Reporting to the Provost and Vice President Academic, you will embrace the history of the JR Shaw School and its achievements while building capacity and driving toward broader institutional goals.  As an innovative leader, you will encourage collaborative partnerships within the School, across academic areas, and with the broader external business community.  You will drive an innovative applied research program that address industry’s need for relevant solutions for technology and business development and gives students the opportunity to put their learning to work.  With your infectious passion for enhancing student engagement, you will build on the culture of continuous improvement of an exceptional learning experience for students.  

In addition to your advanced degree, your visionary and inspirational leadership experience prepares you to accelerate this School to achieve more.  You will hold the post for appropriate tenure to see through the School’s next stage of its evolution.  Honouring the history and success already achieved, you will become the School’s chief advocate and relationship builder, working with the senior leadership team, students, alumni and donors to strengthen connections in local and national communities and build on a foundation of innovative discovery and entrepreneurial spirit.  

More specifically, the ideal candidate:

  • Possesses an advanced degree and demonstrated organizational leadership experience in the academic, corporate or public sectors;

  • Has a track record working at the strategic level, engaging faculty members and staff to choose initiatives and manage priorities in the context of the JR Shaw School of Business, Hospitality and Culinary Arts’ and NAIT’s  strategic vision;

  • Has a reputation as a bold advocate with a demonstrated ability to reach out and build relationships with multiple stakeholders, including community and government leaders;  

Compensation will include a base salary within the range of $129,526.54 to $171,605.46 plus management benefits
